It is always a historic moment to be able to offer healthcare to patients in a new country. It is also evidence that Kry’s healthcare model responds to the challenges created by Europe’s demographic and economic development, says Kalle Conneryd Lundgren, CEO of Kry.
Kry was founded in Sweden in 2015 with the vision of making healthcare more accessible, equitable and efficient by combining digital innovation with physical care. Since its launch, the company has grown to become one of Europe’s leading healthcare providers and is now active in Sweden, Norway, France, the United Kingdom and since October 26th in Ireland.
The scale of the company’s operations illustrates the role it plays in today’s healthcare systems:
More than 14 million patient consultations have been completed since the company was founded.
The platform provides access to care for millions of people across Europe.
Efficient access: Through Kry’s digital service, 80% of patients are supported by a doctor or another healthcare professional within 23 minutes.
Operates around 70 physical healthcare facilities and employs approximately 4,000 healthcare professionals.
Ireland’s healthcare system is primarily publicly funded and faces challenges similar to those experienced by many other European countries, including an ageing population, growing demand, limited resources and long waiting lists.
The Irish operation will be coordinated by Kry’s UK organisation, which will be responsible for areas including the recruitment of Irish healthcare professionals and patient communications. Kry offers a broad range of services to both patients and healthcare organisations. At the heart of its offering is digital infrastructure to make healthcare more accessible. This includes providing digital meetings to patients as well as helping overstretched healthcare centres increase their capacity by using digital technology to manage administration and support more straightforward assessments. By transferring an estimated 60% of primary care consultations to digital channels, resources can be freed up for the 40% of patients who require a physical examination or treatment.
Just as in many other European countries, waiting times and pressure on primary care are significant challenges in Ireland. By combining our technology with the expertise of our healthcare professionals, we can support existing providers and help them deliver care more efficiently,” says Kalle Conneryd Lundgren. “We do not rule out opening our own physical healthcare centres also in Ireland in the future. We always start by asking where we can make the greatest difference for patients and improve the healthcare system. We invest in technology to give our employees the best possible tools. This allows them to focus on what matters most - the patient -instead of being overwhelmed by administrative tasks, concludes Kalle Conneryd Lundgren.
